Allows a
managed server to become a platform for e-commerce. With secure
server functionality and a pre-loaded commerce engine, each domain
can serve as a separate storefront, or together can become an
online shopping mall. Key shopping modules such as UPS shipping,
are bundled options. Each storefront has web based tools to allow
Internet "newbies" the ability to build a professional looking
shopping catalog with a simple point and click method. |

Ben owns
a local neighborhood convenience store, and has found that most
of his customers have Internet access. He typically runs specials
on overstocked items or is able to provide bulk discounts to local
restaurants if they pre-order. He'd like to offer these specials
online so that he can free up some time continually fielding phone
orders and questions. Now that he has added eCommerce to his Application
Server he has been able to direct his customers to his web site
(pre written on each receipt) for faster service and greater discounts.
It works. His customers love the convenience and cheaper prices,
and Ben has now found he can expand the selection of items he
sells without having to stock more inventory. As soon as scooters
became "cool," he posted a picture of a neighborhood kid on a
scooter on his website with the caption, "Buy a scooter for your
child online and receive $20 grocery discount at Ben's." The scooters
are automatically drop shipped to the buyer without being stocked
at Ben's Store... and, the number of local clients who regularly
shop at his store grows daily. |
